The Teleférico cable car is safe and operates daily. At the top (2200m) it's cool — bring a jacket. Hiking trails are safe only in groups with a guide, especially the Sabas Nieves route. Don't go alone.
USD cash is the main currency for tourists. Accepted everywhere. Bolivars (VES) devalue quickly. Visa/Mastercard work in major establishments, but exchange rate is unfavorable. Exchange money at official bureaus or hotels.
Airport is 30 km from center. Official taxi $40-60 (buy voucher inside terminal). Buses are cheaper ($2-3) but slower. Journey takes 45-90 minutes depending on traffic. Uber/DiDi work but not in arrival zone.
