The Copernicus Monument is a bronze statue honoring Nicolaus Copernicus, the renowned Polish astronomer who formulated the heliocentric model of the universe. Created by Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen and unveiled in 1830, the statue depicts Copernicus holding a compass and armillary sphere. Located in front of the neoclassical Staszic Palace (Polish Academy of Sciences), it is one of Warsaws most iconic landmarks and popular meeting points.
